I have my tivo now and it is all setup and recording happily. So of course the very first thing the tivo records is....... dunt dunt duhhhhh. Army of Darkness. Heh I thought it was a good way to break in the new tivo personally. :) And yes I am a geek but hey is that really a bad thing.
Well DMC Owner John DeLorean Died today. Suck I was kinda hoped he would make a come back after that bad coke deal sent him to prison and the cars the rest of the way down the tubes. No more back to the future cars for us I suppose.
I figured I would move up here and be short of the web for about a week mostly because thats just how long it takes the DSL hardware to come in before I can set up the wireless and such in my apartment. it turns out though that someone with a fairly decent connection, is being kind enough to share his wifi openly, so yay web for me. So to whomever runs VIJNET thanks for the packets till my own hardware comes along.
Ok its time to finish up moving, its time to get utilities. I won't get internet until next friday evening because they have no times that I am not working until then. Fine I will find a coffee shop, I will live. I feel no need to have a landline as it is a minimum of 20 a month for something I will never use. I wish to get satellite with Tivo, I am beginning to wish for a bullet in the head as well. Even if you want to hack your tivo to enable the usb ports on the back to work one has to have a PC, I do not. So you hack the tivo to get the usb ports working but if you let it update, this is the only point of have the connection as it gets its guide info from the satellite, then you lose the hack and the usb ports stop working. Great, ok fine direct tv is retarded so I will just get a series 2 tivo and have it control the dish. except you can only do one channel at a time, even though you have a three LNB dish and can do two at a time if you had the directv tivo. AND its cost an extra 8 a month. How bloody smart do you have to be to put a cat5 port in the back of your machine. My game consoles with a one track mind can even manage this. If the cat5 port is too hard how about enabling the usb ports directv. That way you can do your updates over the broadband with a cheap adapter. ................. Where are my bullets again?.......
