Oh yea

Oh yea I tried the new mountain dew pitch black and I have to say I think its rather disgusting. Just my opinion on it.

The Darkness

|

When your mind wanders into the dark, what do you think about. What does this say about you as a person, or does it really not matter at all what you think about in dark times. How does your mind find its way into the darkness, does it wander there on its own? Or does it find its path there after something bad or sad has happened. What are we capable in the darkness of our minds. And does even thinking about this prove anything. Is this sort of introspection a good thing or is it damaging. I wish I knew the answer to this and many other questions, but as always I still simply hunt for answers.

Class oh I have none......

Oh wait school classes, yea I have a few of those, Chemestry, Biology, Latin, Ancient World History. They are going well, i am enjoying the material and finding it very engaging. My professors are knowledgeable and whereas I have many more hours and a few more years then my lab TA's they are still good people that seem to know what they are doing. This first week had a little homework and one quiz and I shall have a few more quizes next week, but I do study, and I do like where I live, so in general I do seem to be a little more happy. Other then that not much happening.

As far as working out is going as everybody else is posting about it, all I am getting done is about 7 miles a day on my bike around the park, I will start weights again next week when I find the weight room.

A post

|

This is a post, it is only a post, if it had been a real post then following would be the sounds of chaos and insanity.

I have put anything up since the description of boozeball and the vegas that proceeded it. I have since then gone to Bloomington, IN to watch the Smithsonian Jazz Orchestra perform with Kat Belt. I got to meet David Baker as he is Kat's brother-in-law. I also got to meet most of the orchestra the day before the performance as well as at the reception after the performance. And while there was a great many noticeable musicians there, I had the occasion to meet Joe Wilder who is a trumpet player that played with Count Basie, Dizzy Gillespie, and Ella Fitzgerald. I also got to hear Joe play a few solos at the concert and he still is just absolutely amazing. I also got to met Everette Green who sings jazz and truly is the re-incarnation of Louis Armstrong and the embodiment of "smooth". Still after being that damn cool he is also a very very nice guy.

I had my first day of class at SLU and I think I am going to enjoy all of my classes for a change, even my latin professor is funny. I about stressed to death over the fact that they wanted about 3k by today (which they got) and still had to buy books (cost 500.00 this semester) but i got up and drove out there and went to my four classes for the day and had over all a pretty good time.

My room at the apt is slowly coming together a little and actually becoming more habitable, this is a good thing.

I went to Huck's sat night and did counter-strike and starcraft and had a very good time out there and I thank him for having all of us up to play games at his place. I also thank his parents for not kicking us out.

This is me signing off for now, I'll try to post a little more often, but lately life has been a little interesting so I will do what I can.

So I have played through the marine and predator sequence for this game and fired up the alien sequence. I got to play for about 6 min and then started to get motion sick. The climbing of the walls and constantly rotating view plus with the fisheye aspect of its edge vision really did me in, so I am afraid without motion sick medication I may not get to play the sequence and since I think that taking medicine just to play a video game might be a bit much, I may have to settle with just being a predator. Oh well.

Defcon Post 100

|

Yay this is my 100th post to my blog in any form, eventually I will count up how many public posts I have. I went to Defcon this past weekend in Las Vegas, NV and I had a great time. I met some new people and got to talk again with V1ru5, Joe hacker, and Rocket as they all came from their respective distances to come to the con. I sat in on a talk about the Kryptos sculpture at the CIA and and talk about recycling old tricks to make new hacks. These were the two most enjoyable talks I had been the entire weekend. I found out that Interzone next year is looking to be an awesome trip with really great talks. So we go to the con and go to some of the talks and hang out with a lot hackers and generally have a good time. These are a couple of shots taken of me that I wasn't aware of that were given to me by Mr. Sigler I was just lounging by the pool chatting with a few friends from back home before the Kryptos talk that day.

So the con ends on Sunday afternoon but then there are those of us who stay and don't leave till Monday for some reason or another. So Sunday afternoon I find myself in a pool having a generally good time and just relaxing for a bit. Well a bit later on at one of the pools at the Alexis Park there was a tradition of having a PoolCon. Which really just equates to free booze. Here is how you get the free booze, you play a game. This game would be known as BoozeBall. Great name huh. Basically you take a large container of juice or something and poor half out, fill back up with a booze to match the juice, shake to mix and then through into the pool. when it lands near you, take off cap take a drink, screw on cap tightly and then throw again. Repeat until Ball is empty. Make new ball. I played for about 2.5 hours and helped go through 4 balls. These where 2 x cranberry/Grey Goose Vodka, a Mango Margarita ball, and a screwdriver ball. They also brought in these little plastic vending machine eggs that had little ninjas in them, they would fill these with straight booze and toss them in to make the ninja shots, I had way too many of these as well. So I played and actually may have talked my way into a freelance coding job while very under the influence and talked and had a very very good time...... too good of time. I drank myself very very sick and commenced to worshiping the trash can gods for about 2.5 hours that night before I even left. Some of the things said to be of note. One of the defcon goons was very nice to me and stayed with me to make sure I didn't die. She mentioned that one of the many times at the beginning when I made with the hurking noises it was bright orange and she could see that from across the pool. It was also mentioned that there were times that after hurking there were sounds much like a little girl crying that came from me, i do not deny this as after a while that really really starts to hurt, but I do take consolation in that these were short lived sounds. Mr. Sigler came along and eventually we did get to leave to go back to the our Hotel where sleep was promptly had. The next morning was some packing and more puking and then commence on the 12 hour drive to CO. The scene of us leaving vegas was this, Dave in the back seat eating some gas station food, Eric driving the Sentra away from Vegas, Me in the passenger seat with a bag and hurking into it while Viva Las Vegas is playing on the radio. I was an experience thats for sure. Some pics of me at my less then stellar moments are to follow.

For those of you I told I would take pics of my Cuthulu plush having a good time in Vegas, well I was going to take those pics sunday night, but I was busy as you can read above. Oh yea and it seems that chicks really do dig Cuthulu as many came and talked to me about him alone.
