Graduation

I made it out of UMR, well I decided to feel the torture again and I went to my old high school graduation. I knew a few of the people that were graduation, siblings of people I went to school with and some I helped as a senior there so long ago. I remembered so afterwards that I am old compared to them I am 23 and they are 18 they are just stating a segment of their lives that I have already finished, everyone was so happy there and they just didn't realize that things will be good at college and some things will be bad. I wish them the best of luck in escaping this POS town and maybe some of the brighter ones will go out and be successful and not have to come back to a town that is slowly fading away. I read somewhere in one of the local papers that something like 60-70% of the people that graduate from DeSoto High eventually come back to stay. I wonder how many of those never got a degree or got knocked up or any number of things. I wonder how many just couldn't manage to get out....

I know exactly what you mean. I attended my youngest sister's graduation a few weeks ago, and for the first time, I didn't run into a single person that I knew. It has been six years, after all.
