Sushi

|

Well Carrie and I decided the weekend before last that we were going to try to make our own sushi. We bought the tuna a week in advance and froze it the entire time so that all of the parasites were dead. also picked up some imitation crab meat in strips. So we made some sushi rice and broke out the seaweed sheets and the rollers. I have pictures of the rolls and after they were cut. They were very tasty and there was no food poisoning to be had so it seemed like all in all it was a good experience.

Update from the land of me

|

So now i sit in Ames pretty much goofing off, i picked up a little bit and did some dishes here as Carrie is at work, and now I have begun watching the Harry Potter Dvds. I figured they are long and Carrie will be back by the time i finish watching them. I like the movies but really did have a great urge to see them again until very recently when I had begun driving back and forth to Ames and back. I have started to listen to the Harry Potter books on my ipod and now i also want to watch them. Other then that theres not much going on. I'll post more if I find out more.

Reporting good

So I have been on the hunt for a job these past few weeks and I came across a Data Entry position on Careerbuilder.com. I swallowed my pride and went it is some kind of experience it will help in the long run. I sent an email with my resume. About 5 min later I got a response from the company. It went a little something like this.

Very impressive resume. "Company Name" would like to offer you the position of Data Entry Specialist effective immediately! Starting salary $16.45 per hour with benefits and medical. All who apply must complete an application & DES manual. Since we do not perform background checks, reading and agreement to terms within pre-hiring DES manuals are mandatory for serious consideration with this position, due to the sensitivity of the data that will be handled. All DES manuals are provided by an approved licensed facility. In order to request your application and manual, send a letter
requesting DES Manual #543540 along with a $17.23 money order (for postage) to:

"Address"
"to lose your"
"money to"

After the application and manuals have been completed and returned, We will refund your postage expense and contact you for an interview.

"Person", Supervisor
"Company" Human Resources
Data Support Divisions

this email came from a post.com email address and so becoming suspicious of the money order deal I went to my friend google. A company in Des Moines, IA turned up and so I went to their site to check it out. No data entry in the company, it is all CS consulting (for very good pay too)

So I called the company to let them know something not so good could be going on in their name. I talk to the man who answered the phone for a bit and then he put me through to the president of the company. She was very nice and got all the information from and will be looking into the matter, and will be letting me know how it turns out. I also asked about applying for one of their open positions. She asked me about school and some of the things that I had done and said that right now they just finished a project and are placing all of those consultants, but as May gets closer she said they might have a position open up there.

So thats the biggest news i have had in a while and I know i really need to post much more often and I will do better I hope.

Holy crap I haven't posted in a month, I am just getting too damn unorganized to keep my posting up, but with school starting again I should be around some more. Being gone the past couple of weeks has really kept me from posting. Oh well I'll try better.
