End of the semester....

|

It is finally near the end my classes are wrapping up and my work load is finally letting up a little bit, but i still have some finals to take care of but that is the usual end of the year stuff. this semester wasn't too bad i went into it thinking it would be my last as an undergrad but then being advised not to graduate i will be taking one more semester as an undergrad before starting on my graduate work. I am severely disappointed with the fact that Invisible War will not run without pixel shaders so that means that i wont be playing the game for some time. I have a new game to play for a little while as i have borrowed ratchet and clank from huck and it is a pretty funny and fun game so it should provide some enjoyment for the next few days. My dad and aunt both have there 50th birthday the day after tomorrow so i am sure that will be an interesting time. I am definitely looking forward to some time off from school where i can sleep in just a little bit more. oh well thats probably all i need to put in for this post as it has grown long enough.

Close but no.....Xbox

I spent the day at the AI tournament hosted Dr. Tauritz and came very close to winning but alas with one loss and too many draws right at the end of the day, i came close we were tied for first but due to the tie breaker points i came in second. The tournament was pretty fun although there is only so much stratego one can take. So a day of slacking is spent as it took 9 hours for the tournament to run. but i did get some free pizza and a soda so it wasn't a total loss. Now i need to do all of the work that i put off for the day and actually get something accomplished.

Fscking Payroll

|

This is an insult to injury event that is just one of those things that happen that really just makes you kinda sad and frustrated. So I check my bank balance a few days ago to make sure i had the cash to pay my cingular bill and apparently not only did i have my money but a little extra too. Extra to the tune of $507.70. Now of course my first thought is yay free money but then i come to my senses knowing that if i go and spend the money that soon or at least eventually whomever put it in there will take it out. I proceed to call payroll as the money came from UMR. Payroll says it comes from my DoD job. Knowing that taking money from the men with the automatic weapons is a bad idea I then call the department i write the code for. after about 10 min they figure that some how this other individuals paycheck had been deposited into my bank account. I didn't really think anything of it and i just figured oh well they will take the money out without any problem. The next I get an email saying that they cant take the money out and i have to go into campus to write a personal check to UMR for the amount. So now i have to write a check for money then I have had in a while to the school who cant get their finances straight. And for my honesty and troubles i get to sign a paper that says no i didn't steal the money and that i was giving it all back to the best of my knowledge. It the feeling of someone giving you something really shiny and neat and saying here you go a gift and then 20 min later turning around and going nope i changed my mind you have to give it back or I will say you stole it. Stupid payroll. Ok I am done ranting for today. Talk to you all another time.

Been a long time

Well the title pretty much says it with the classwork and just trying to stay sane I haven't really had the time to post. I am now sitting here rebuilding my desktop with some hard drive upgrades. Going from 4gigs to 130 gigs (I'm Happy) and since i decided i had all of this extra space i thought i would put all of the mp3 files from bender into one place on the 120 gig drive. I loaded up Itunes and set it to work. First, I told it to add all 30 gigs of the files to its library from the 5 or 6 folders that i had of mp3's. This went well, apparently there are 6333 songs at 26.56 gigs and 19 days of play time. I then set the personal music library to a single simple folder on the secondary drive and told it normalize the sound volumes and to consolidate the library so all the files will be in one place under the management of itunes and all of the songs will play at the same volume. So i set it in motion..... and now i am realizing that i will never benefit from this process as i will die before it ends. I didn't really think about it but i am copying 26 gigs from one part of a drive to another part of the same drive so that kills transfer speed of course and the sounds normalization does about 3 songs a sec..... for 6333 songs. I am sure old age will set in soon. But maybe ill get to play with it before I die ;) Classes are winding down and there is all of the usual end of the semester work that has to be done but there is only two more weeks and this knowledge makes me very happy. yay song 1000 only a few........thousand more to go. Dues Ex invisible war came out a couple of days ago and I am hoping to be able to resist temptation till after school ends so that i actually finish the semester.

well that seems to be good for this post, but keep an eye out i do plan to start trying to post at least a few times a week.
